The charts above show the number of closed sales in the month of September of each year, ‘00 through ‘09, and the number of homes for sale on the last day of the month. At the bottom of the charts, you will see the number of months it would take for the homes to sell at that month’s rate of sales, plus the average percentage of list price received by sellers is also shown. This month: While the inventory of homes for sale was higher this September than the last couple of years, so were the numbers of sales. Therefore, the market was more balanced.
